Design Director at T!LT

They call me the glue.

My colleagues call me the glue because I hold projects, timelines, teams, and processes together. I’ve held design and copy roles across startups in kids media, big data, and tech, so I deeply understand the day-to-day operations of creating awesome content. I know how to lead creative work because I’ve done creative work for over a decade.

In my past as a certified scrum master, I used agile methodology for over three years with my team. Part of why I loved that work so much was because the ethos of scrum is very much in line with my own — I believe that systems and processes should be iterative, that a team can be self-sufficient within the right type of framework, and that all voices in the room must be heard. As a trans, non-binary person I have seen firsthand how a workplace culture that makes space for diversity and inclusion gets the very best of everyone’s ideas and talents. I’m ready to take my passions for ensuring efficiency, building culture, and cranking out pixel-perfect, actionable content to my next professional adventure!

Firefly brand refresh

  • Head of Design. I was hired in May of 2022 to lead a brand refresh at Firefly. To help us stand out, I brought in a suite of custom icons that showcases each of our products, new colors featuring a primary vibrant green, and visuals that bring in elements of the urban environment (where our ads are seen). A big component of what we do at Firefly is our sophisticated measurement capabilities, so it was important the brand looked high-tech as well.

  • May 2022 — Present

  • I’ve led the overhaul of all of Firefly’s sales materials, setting a large team of high-performing sellers up for success. I plan to get the rest of the brand touchpoints (web, social, etc.) updated in 2023.

Cricket Wireless & Bark Partnership

  • Program manager. For this partnership I was point of contact between Cricket, Yah Agency, and Bark. I facilitated the scripting of 5 videos, the building of Bark’s web properties, and the allocation of resources and assets. I also wrote content for a printed interactive online safety guide that was given out at Cricket retail stores.

  • We started collaborating on this project in Spring of 2021 and it launched in early Fall of 2021.

  • The partnership did a lot to raise awareness at Cricket’s retail stores, the educational content was promoted across Cricket’s user base and helped to educate families about online safety, plus it continues to bring in Bark customers who get a special discount.

Tech Bytes video series

  • Project manager. I spearheaded this project and was point of contact between Consume Media and Bark, facilitating scripting, timings, and quality assurance.

  • The series was filmed in one day and the whole process from scripting to post production took place from April until June, 2021.

  • The videos performed really well, especially across local news affiliates. Additionally, Amazon Web Services sponsored the series for on-air distribution so the videos got even more airtime. The content was incredibly valuable for families and provided quick, actionable tips for keeping their kids safer online.

Bark’s brand refresh

  • Project manager. The overhaul and refresh of our core branding included style guides, libraries, web guidelines, messaging, and implementation. I also actively took on design projects, and I designed the first three images below.

Lead designer on the project was Sean Chancey.

  • This was an ongoing effort from Summer 2021 through Fall 2021, which I built into our weekly sprints around the usual flow of creative briefs from the rest of the company

  • Our collateral across all channels is now seamless and cohesive, from social to web to third party brand usage. This initiative helped launch our new WordPress site by having best practices for web in place.

Illustration & Design

  • Designer. These are a few examples of social/blog assets I created for our social platforms.

  • Q4 2021

  • Custom illustrations add a handmade feel to our content, adding to our brand’s friendly, approachable voice. Plus, these assets help drive traffic to our blog and website.

Kids Media: Comics & Books

  • Writer. In my role at Mind Candy (a startup created by Calm founder Michael Acton Smith), I wrote a comic strip series for the Moshi Monsters monthly magazine. During that time, I took on a few outside projects for kids brands including Hello Kitty, My Little Pony, and more.

  • This work was created between 2012 and 2015.

  • The books were a commercial success, with the My Little Pony title receiving two printings. The comics that I wrote were recurring features in Moshi Monsters Magazine, which sold more copies than Vogue, UK.
